Bishop Auckland Town Hall
Stained glass art installation
Bishop Auckland Town Hall has recently undergone a major refurbishment which was completed in 2020. The team at Durham County Council wanted to preserve a stained glass window created by the late local artist Tom McGuinness which hung in the hall prior to the refurbishment. We carefully removed the window before building work began. We then designed and built a custom frame for the artwork and re-installed it in the Town Hall. The frame was fitted with lights behind the glass to illuminate the artwork and lights around the frame. The installation creates a real point of interest for visitors to the Hall.
